We all have the exact same amount of “time”.

The difference between those busy with accomplishment and those busy with “stuff”, is the activities you choose to do during your tiime. Choose, yes, meaning “within your control”.

Balance, work, home, family and self all require priorities and choices and doing the activities that are completely aligned to our goals. Setting boundaries is absolutely critical to create the balance and the future you know you deserve.

Where Will You Be Tomorrow, Next Week, Next Year?

How will you know where to set boundaries without identifying where you are going? Will you work for another or yourself? Is your child count +1 or +2 or going backwards as they strike out on their own? Are you challenged to “execute activities” or maybe you haven’t figured out what your goals are?

If you don’t know where you’re going, how do you know the steps to get you there? And worse than that, where is “there”? What will prove to you that you’ve arrived?

OOOOhhhh, perhaps you are working towards the “wrong goals”? Did someone “give” you a goal? Shame on them. Perhaps you tried it on for size and forgot to give it back? Quick – toss it overboard! Find your own!!

What step-by-step activities should you choose to move from where you stand today to where you want to be tomorrow? When you visualize yourself there, with equal balance across the roles you play, the path is clear. Setting boundaries is easy because you can see your dream and it’s achievable. Why Don’t You Have It Now?

My assumption is it’s BALANCE. As you move from role to role throughout your day, your name tag rewrites itself. Parent, Spouse, nurse, housekeeper, chef, chauffeur, athlete, nag, teacher. The list is long. Emotions, expectations and challenges accompany each role. Where do your Dreams fit into a busy life?

I believe strongly that if you can write down what you want, post it where you’ll see it and then make a point to read it every day, your brain will figure out how to get you there. That works wonderfully for me and many others.

Other people find success by writing it down every day and reflecting on it first thing every morning. That too works wonderfully too, for some. For others there are dream boards, mission statements and softly spoken meditation phrases.

Each person is unique. My goal is to provide you relevant resources to help you find the right formula for yourself.
